Third MSNano Workshop, Chiba, Japan, 27-28 July 2015

New Trends in X-ray Absorption and Photoelectron Spectroscopy and Multiple Scattering Theory

Place:
Chiba University, Nishi-Chiba campus (access by train)
Engineering Research Bldg. 2 (T19) uHwQv 2nd Floor, Conference Room (202)

Scope. The purpose of this workshop is to bring together leading experimentalists and theorists for exchanging latest results and discussing new trends in x-ray absorption and photoelectron spectroscopy. Emphasis is put on innovative ways for analysing the structural, dynamical, electronic properties of matter at the nanoscale, including new materials for catalysis and spintronics. Chirality effects due to the breaking of space and/or time-inversion symmetry will also be discussed. On the theoretical side, a main focus is on new developments in multiple scattering theory.
This is the 3rd scientific workshop of the MSNano project (A Multiple Scattering platform for Nanomaterials) in the International Research Staff Exchange Scheme of the European Union. It has been scheduled just before the annual meeting of the Japanese XAFS society held in Tsukuba on 29-31July 2015 such that participants can easily attend both events.
