International Symposium on Electron Spectroscopy Theory for Advanced Materials
Chiba, Japan, 7 March 2024
Time: Thursday, 7 March 2024, 12:45-18:00 →
Scientific Program
Place:
Chiba University
Nishi-Chiba campus
Engineering Bldg I (工学部1号棟 T1 on

3rd Floor, Seminar Room
18:30-20:30 → Workshop Dinner at
Sake-Fish Sawasuke, Chiba
Scope:
Designing functional materials requires precise control and understanding of the geometrical and electronic structure of matter. Electron spectroscopies, including
X-ray absorption, EELS, photoelectron spectroscopy and diffraction are among the most accurate
experimental techniques for the atomic-level characterization of materials.
Recent instrumental breakthroughs such as the photoelectron momentum microscopy and
ultrafast pump-probe experiments have led to a wealth of experimental data
with unprecedented spatial, temporal and energy resolution.
For their quantitative analysis, novel and more accurate theoretical methods are needed.
The aim of this symposium is to bring together international experts in the field,
in order to discuss recent advances and future callenges in electron spectroscopy theory.
