International Workshop on Correlated Materials and Electron Spectroscopy
Chiba, Japan, 27 February 2026

Time:   Friday, 27 February 2026, 11:00-18:45   →   Scientific Program

Place:   Chiba University   Nishi-Chiba campus   Sho-in Hall/Information Center   (Bldg (i) on map near South Gate)

Scope:   For designing novel functional materials, detailed understanding the electronic properties is crucial. Oftentimes, electron correlation plays a prominent role as it gives rise to collective phenomena such as magnetism, superconductivity, multiferriocity etc. To this end, precise characterization and control of the geometrical and electronic structure of matter is mandatory. X-ray, neutron, UV and electron spectroscopies, including angle-resolved photoemission, x-ray absorption, resonant x-ray inelastic scattering, neutron scattering and photoelectron diffraction are among the most accurate experimental techniques for the atomic-level characterization. Recent instrumental breakthroughs such as the photoelectron momentum microscopy and ultrafast pump-probe experiments have led to a wealth of experimental data with unprecedented spatial, temporal and energy resolution. For their quantitative analysis, novel and more accurate theoretical methods are needed. The aim of this symposium is to bring together international experts, in the field of strongly correlated materials and advanced electron spectroscopy, in order to discuss recent advances and future callenges.
